Econocom bootst its expertise in the virtualization and cloud market

Econocom acquires a strategic interest in Centix,

Belgium’s leading independent virtualization service provider.

Econocom Group, the European leader in business-to- business IT and telecoms infrastructure management, announced today that it has acquired a 40% stake in Centix, with a three-year option to purchase the company’s remaining stake.

Centix, Belgium’s acknowledged specialist in desktop and server virtualization solutions, has reported consistent growth since its inception in 2007, with revenue of €2 M.

Thanks to their recognized market leadership and complementary strengths in terms of technological expertise and customer portfolio, Econocom and Centix will now be able to offer their customers a leading solution for migrating all their IT infrastructures to the cloud by covering all areas of virtualization.

“Centix’ considerable expertise in virtualization and cloud integration technologies will further enhance Econocom’s ability to assist its customers in transforming and optimising their IT and telecoms infrastructures. We will now be in a position to offer a comprehensive range of virtualization solutions and associated security services”, says Christophe Vanmalleghem, Services Managing Director at Econocom Group.

This acquisition in the profitable virtualization service market is part of Econocom Group’s targeted external growth strategy, which is centred on the one hand on increasing its size and consolidating its position (as was the case with the acquisition of ECS, which enabled the group to double its size), as well as acquiring strategic skills to enhance the group’s offering.
